Have you ever read the explanation of a princess fondling a frog, having it turn into a prince? Well, what if it didnt become a prince, but she turned into a frog herself This is called irony, something we would not expect to happen. In the story of the princess we would not expect that to happen. In the story The Lottery, written by Shirley Jackson, we see this situation in another form. She uses irony to bring out the point in her story. The Lottery, offers an ironical twist of fate that causes wonder and makes one sympathize with the characters. There have been many situations on our own lives in which we are totally surprised in the outcome of a situation. In this case Jackson emphasized the irony as her main goal. She declares, to shock the storys readers with a graphic display of the pointless violence and general inhumanity in their own lives. This shows that she wanted to use the element of irony to bring out the meaning of her story. I showed her no trust and she had all rights to do so to herself who would want a husband like me? A betrayer, a villain, a person who listened to a man who was only hungry for power. If I dont reach to a conclusion with Cassius, ou r fights could go on forever. Cassius has such a huge ego that he would always deny the incident that he is wrong.However, I would always continue responding back since I know for a fact that what I say is mostly correct as I have had more experience being in a higher position than Cassius. On the other hand, I had to end the fight somewhere as Cassius wanted me to kill him, and I cannot do this to another brother without a solid reason, but also since I was furious at myself for allowing the death of Portia. Meanwhile, I consider Cassius ideas wrong once more involving the case of marching into Philippi.The best thing to do is to march immediately into Philippi to confront the enemies.
